Today Pinterest released an important update to its iOS app, making it now easier for users to discover new pins.
When iOS users originally viewed a pin and scrolled downwards, the screen stopped short at the comment field, but now, users looking for more will be thrown into a view of pinboards which feature the original pin, as well as an endless scroll of related pins. This shift is all about encouraging accidental discovery — making the mobile app a bit serendipitous.
With the new discovery feature, Pinterest has gone with a quirky (some would say even awkward) way of displaying related pinboards. Users can now scroll through them in any direction, leading to an unexpected experience.
In addition to these changes, this update also brings larger pins to the iPad and adds profile editing functionality. If your interest is piqued, check out the latest version by updating your app or downloading it via this link.
